Recently, the Shaoxing Ecological Environment Bureau publicized the acceptance of the environmental impact report for the project of Zhejiang Fanghua Chemical Co., Ltd. to annually produce 10,000 tons of fourth-generation new environmentally friendly refrigerants.
According to the announcement, the project has a total investment of 157.944 million yuan. It will involve renovating and utilizing existing factory buildings and constructing new facilities—including a refrigeration unit room and a hydrogen compression room—on vacant land, adding a total construction area of 490 square meters. The project will procure equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, and HF directional conversion units. Using hexafluoropropylene and hydrogen as raw materials, upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of fourth-generation new refrigerants (10,000 tons of tetrafluoropropylene), with an annual by-product output of 19,000 tons of 30% hydrofluoric acid.
It is reported that Zhejiang Fanghua Chemical Co., Ltd. was established in November 2021 as a joint venture between Zhejiang Weihua New Materials Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Essence Chemical Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 300 million yuan. Weihua New Materials and Essence Chemical hold 59% and 41% stakes, respectively. The company is an enterprise specializing in the production and research & development of specialty chemicals.
