On December 26, the GREE production base in Chengdu achieved another historic milestone. Within just days of the successful rollout of its first prototype, the production lines were operating at full capacity, marking the official completion of the first batch of large-scale, locally produced "Chengdu-made" air conditioners. This signifies that the Chengdu base has fully established its systematic capabilities, transitioning from technical validation to stable production. With the air conditioning production line now fully operational and capable of batch deliveries, the base has successfully entered a new phase of large-scale, intelligent manufacturing. It also heralds the dawn of a new era of intelligent production at the Chengdu GREE base, characterized by the integration of air conditioning and washing appliance production.
According to available information, Gree Electric Appliances (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. is Gree’s first and exclusive global production base dedicated to washing machine products. With a total phase-one investment of approximately 2 billion yuan, the base boasts full production capabilities for a complete range of products, including heat pump care washers, drum washing machines, and pulsator washing machines. It holds over 600 patents related to washing machine technology and has been recognized as a 2023 Chengdu “Smart Factory.”
This achievement signifies that the Chengdu production base has strategically evolved from manufacturing only washing machines to the intelligent production of both air conditioners and washing machines, marking a critical breakthrough in its production capacity development.
Looking ahead, GREE Chengdu will continue to drive production capacity ramp-up and efficiency improvements to ensure the steady delivery of high-quality products.
