Daikin Europe has confirmed its European leader position within the hydronic heat pump segment. On top of that, the company is proud to announce that it has installed 1 million hydronic heat pumps throughout Europe. With 12 manufacturing locations throughout Europe, of which 5 are dedicated to heat pump production, Daikin is anchored deep in the European market. With an exponentially growing demand for heat pumps and Europe’s mission to become the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050, Daikin has the structure and capability to tackle the growing decarbonization challenges. It continues to grow and invest massively in Europe, with the recently announced new production factory in Łódź (Poland) and R&D center EDC in Ghent (Belgium).
Based on hydronic heat pump market data by BRG Building Solutions, Daikin has confirmed its number 1 position in Europe in this segment (which covers air-to-water heat pumps, hybrid heat pumps and ground source heat pumps). Daikin’s hydronic heat pumps (the Daikin Altherma series) are the most widely installed heat pumps in Europe.
Daikin develops and produces its heat pumps entirely in Europe. Daikin has 12 manufacturing locations throughout Europe, with five of them dedicated to heat pump production. People with a Daikin Altherma heat pump have a European-made heat pump in their homes. Not only the production , but also the creation and design of the product is European based. The recent investment for an EMEA Development Center in Ghent and the new factory in Poland (a combined investment of 1,2-billion euro by 2025) only support Daikin’s European anchoring.
Daikin Europe has also reached the milestone of 1 million hydronic heat pumps installed throughout Europe since the first launch of Daikin Altherma in 2006. This is once again a confirmation that Daikin hydronic heat pumps are the preferred choice throughout the continent. Patrick Crombez, General Manager Heating and Renewables: “At Daikin, we’re very proud that 1 million European customers chose Daikin for their heat pump. Having a heat pump in every European home is becoming a reality. The hydronic heat pumps we produce are of European origin, produced in our five European factories. We see that the European market is ready to accept and implement more sustainable technologies, such as heat pumps. We are ready to face the anticipated annual growth rate of 20% CAGR of the heat pump market.”
More heat pumps are being installed throughout Europe and the demand is growing exponentially.
Daikin has the structure and capability to face the growing challenge of more sustainable technology with confidence in Europe. To become the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050, decarbonizing the heating sector will play an essential role. Daikin embraces this EU Green Deal and believes heat pumps will be key to reach this target.
Daikin Europe continues to grow and massively invest in the future, with the recently announced new production factory in Poland, the new worldwide R&D center EDC in Belgium, and additional production lines in existing production locations.
Patrick Crombez: “Daikin has the means and capacity to help decarbonize Europe. As a European HVAC market leader, we lead the way towards a
more sustainable future. We are ready to face the challenges of increasing the replacement rate and ending fossil fuel incentives, as described in our four steps guide to decarbonizing Europe. The people are ready and the market is ready, and Daikin is ready to make it all happen.”
